Lyrics to remember...

On the stereo
Listen as we go
Nothing's gonna stop me now
California here we come
Right back where we started from

Pedal to the floor
Thinkin' of the roar
Gotta get us to the show
California here we come
Right back where we started from

California!
Here we come!

Off to LA today; will be back in a week. Have a happy and safe next week. xo

blah blah blah

Soft and cozy and reversible? Sounds perfect to me! I really like this Blah blah throw by Donna Wilson.

Donna is originally from Scotland and runs a studio and workshop in London. She has built her business designing and making a collection of curious cushions, luxurious lambswool blankets, and a variety of products for you and your home. I think the pieces she makes are things customers will treasure...and that, along with the blanket gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

To know you

I love the canvases on the wall in this dining room. On a smaller scale, I also love these letterpress prints and cards by Hijurik Studio. So cute.

Really?

May I just say that I was a little concerned to see the word 'vintage' and the year '1985' together. 1985 is the year I was born and I hardly consider myself to be 'vintage'. I do love the box though. That is all. xo

art interiors

I came across this site today and I may have fallen in love. The philosophy at art interiors is that everyone should be able to own an affordable piece of art. I'm not talking about the kind you find at HomeSense (although I love that kind), I'm talking about the kind that talented young artists create, the kind that when purchased can actually be boasted as real art.

art interiors has an ever-changing collection of artistic styles, from the traditional to the contemporary, there's something to suit every taste - and every budget. Another great part about it is that it's Canadian! Check it out.

Tieve Tara loves...

Blue! I have always been a fan and I think it works so well with so many other colours. I especially love it with white...who would have thought?

Below are a few examples of interesting rooms with splashes of blue:

1) I also love interesting headboards. This bedroom features a tall bamboo screen, spray-painted bright blue. I happen to think it looks pretty fantastic.

2) Another fabulous headboard. This one was created using antique doors. The pale blue coverlet and other blue accents soften the rustic wood elements.

3) I love the dramatic statement this cabinet makes. To get this look; remove the kitchen cupboards, wallpaper the back wall and paint the bottom cabinets and top shelves a bright colour. Displaying white dishes keeps the cabinet from looking too cluttered.

4) I love this bathroom because it is so breezy and eclectic. Sarah Richardson went for a similar look in her farmhouse by painting a claw foot tub yellow. I loved it in yellow and I love it in blue.

Lyrics to remember...

You got a fast car
I want a ticket to anywhere
Maybe we make a deal
Maybe together we can get somewhere

Anyplace is better
Starting from zero got nothing to lose
Maybe we'll make something
But me myself I got nothing to prove

Fast Car ~ Tracy Chapman

I have been bad with posting this week...I guess it just leaves room for improvement for next week. Have a happy and safe weekend everyone. xoxo.

Phonofone?

This Phonofone by Science + Sons is pretty fantastic! I love its sleek ceramic look AND it features an i-pod dock! Without the use of external power or batteries, the Phonofone inventively exploits the virtues of horn acoustics to boost the audio output of standard earphones to up to 55 decibels. So cool!

DIY Framed Handkerchiefs

I love this DIY project because it is so simple and I love the vintage look it creates. Throughout the years I have been given many a charming hankie from my Irish grandmother. I think this would be a great way to showcase those special gifts that might otherwise sit in a drawer un-used. Check out all the DIY details at houseandhome.com.

Lyrics to remember...

Some people talk about ya
Like they know all about ya
When you get down they doubt ya
And when you dip it on the scene
Yeah they talkin' bout it
Cause they can't dip on the scene
Whatcha talk about it
t-t-t-talkin' bout it
When you get elevated,
They love it or they hate it
You dance up on them haters
Keep getting funky on the scene
Why they jumpin' round ya
They trying to take all your dreams
But you can't allow it

Tightrope ~ Janelle Monae

Have a happy and safe weekend! xoxo.

Double Trouble

Talk about a cool job title. As head antiques buyer for the delightfully eccentric chain Anthropologie, Keith Johnson travels the world buying beautiful objects to stock and furnish the shops. Combine Johnson's taste with that of Urban Outfitters CEO Glen Senk and you have New York eclectic elegance at its finest! (Via Elle Decor)

Fashionphile and Fashion Bay

Are you in need of a new Louis? Would you settle for a used one? How about selling a bag you no longer use? Check out Fashionphile. It is the largest pre-owned luxury handbag business in the US. Chic Sweets

First of all, if you haven't checked out Style Me Pretty you should! It's a daily read of mine and the eye candy and design inspiration is great, even if you aren't getting married.

Second of all, check out today's DIY inspired dessert bar! Is candy allowed before breakfast? I have always wanted to have a dessert bar at my wedding and this one really is awesome. It's bright colours and use of ready-to-print templates take the concept to an entirely new level. The idea is so easy to replicate and might just be the one thing that inspires your entire wedding day style. First stop...the candy isle! xo.

Villas Orpheus & Eurydice

Located on the island of Mykonos, Greece, these two villas are so gorgeous it's ridiculous. They are flooded with light and decorated from floor to ceiling in white (have I mentioned I love white?)

The two houses are owned by British husband and wife team Katie and Jonny Friedman and are separated from one another by the hilltop landscape. Eurydice sleeps 10, while Orpheus accommodates 8-10 and a week long stay will cost you anywhere from 1,500-16,000 Euros depending on the villa and the season. What a stunning location for a wedding...or a honeymoon! (via Apartment Therapy)

Do you have a desk for me?

Good morning! I hope everyone had a good long weekend. I am sure you are all stoked to be back at work... Not so much? Well if you worked here you might be!

The
Etsy Lab in Brooklyn looks like the coolest place to work ever. 75 lucky employees work in this 9000 square foot space filled with amazing products and quirky touches. Ping pong anyone?
