Wishing you and yours a very merry and safe Christmas! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for stopping by to read my ramblings. I am grateful for all of you. Lots of love. xoxo

Lofty idea

I am charmed to the core over this ingenious book storage idea. These are simply planks of painted plywood nailed to the supports above. They create the perfect cubby spaces to store books. I'm not 100% sure how you would get them down...but no one ever said you had to read the books...

Rub a dub dub

This tub is made from a soft polypropylene material and contains lights inside a double skin. The bath gets softer when filled with hot water so its an extra comfortable place to relax. I'm intrigued! (via design sponge)

Bedroom

I wouldn't mind rolling out of this bed on a lazy Sunday morning (or any day for that matter). Cuppa tea?

These boots are made for raining

...and that's just what they'll do! Rain Level boots are perfect for Vancouver weather and the concept is oh so clever. I heart them.

Lyrics to remember...

Shoelaces untied
You can dry your eyes
Perfect shadows alive
Behind us
This is the day i make you mine

The way your hair lies
sometimes unrecognized
All the way from these today
on a train
Nothing to say if theres still time

But you are the one
I've been wating for today
And here comes the sun
That's been baiting on today

Photographs

Pets on Furniture

I came across a post on desire to inspire today called 'pets on furniture'. I think it's such a cute idea. Readers are encouraged to send in photos based on a few basic rules. One of those rules is that the pet must be on a piece of furniture and that said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo so that it takes centre stage over your pet. I love that these photos become more about a great piece that you want to show off and that your pet just so happens to be sitting on it. Here are a few gems.

Lyrics to remember...

I wanna ask you
Do you ever sit and wonder,
It's so strange
That we could be together for
So long, and never know, never care
What goes on in the other one's head?

Things I've felt but I've never said
You said things that I never said
So I'll say something that I should have said long ago:

(You don't know me)
You don't know me at all
(You don't know me)
You don't know me at all (at all)

Pyrrha Seals

Pyrrha is nothing new, in fact I have my very own Pyrrha seal necklace, but this Vancouver-based jewellery company has some amazing and meaningful stuff. A recent trip to Blue Ruby reminded me how much I love their designs.

From their Vancouver studio, using techniques that evolved from trial and error and disregard for rules, Wade Papin and Danielle Wilmore craft the seals that have become the Pyrrha signature. Choose one with the perfect meaning for someone you care about. I think they make a very thoughtful Christmas gift!

Inspiration

Pinterest has the potential to be my new favourite thing. It is a virtual pinboard where you can post collections of things you love and "follow" collections created by people with great taste. I'm pretty excited.

Sequins

With the Christmas season comes a wonderful excuse to rock sequins! This Deer Dreamer sweater dress from French Connection is super cute and oh so festive. Pair it with some leggings and boots and I think you've got a winning look on your hands.

A lot like Christmas

Christmas is fast approaching...in fact, it is t-19 days away. This scares me for two reasons: 1) I have yet to purchase a single gift 2) The days I have left to consume eggnog lattes from Starbucks are numbered

What better way to further procrastinate then to peruse gorgeous Christmas decorating ideas!? Below are a few simple looks that are easy to pull of yet look like a million bucks.

Strike a festive note with a vintage style, do-it-yourself card display board in your front hall. To make a similar board, paint a vintage frame, fit it with a bulletin board and then use spray adhesive to affix pretty wrapping on top of the cork. This idea definitely beats those card strings!

A simple bouquet of bare branches offers a chic and easy alternative to the customary Christmas tree.

Satin ribbons flowing from the chandeliers are elegantly simple accents.

Over 100 Christmas ornaments sparkle on this mantel, but the look remains refined thanks to the room's modern furniture and all white palette. Sigh. White.

Lyrics to remember...

I've been sleeping for forty days and
Yeah, I know that I'm sleeping cause this dream's too amazing
She got gold doorknobs where her eyes used to be, yeah
One turn and I learned what it really means to see, yeah

It's the magical mystery kind
Must be a lie
Bye bye to the too good to be true kind of love
Oooooh I could die
Oooooh now, I could die

White and...

Everyone knows that I love white, and its partner in crime (this could even be a really cheesy play on words referencing a prison jumpsuit...but I digress) is not far behind. Black makes everything POP, and this mantel is no exception. I have been starring at my fireplace lately thinking of how this precise look might work. Well...I think it works pretty darn well. Dashing I say.

Concrete

I love the industrial look of this concrete light fixture. Get the DIY details from Brigg, a blogger who has re-created the Tove Adman design. She did an amazing job of replicating the look.
